Interactive Projects and Design have been working with Halfords for 13 years and they are our longest standing client. We were delighted to have been involved in the development of the new Halfords Flagship ‘Store of the Future’ concept store.
The project required us to work with the client and design team to bring the concept into reality.
IPD dealt with the day to day responsibilities of a busy H&S aware project. Our SMSTS site manager worked closely with the client and clients representative at weekly site meetings to ensure the construction programme was adhered to. IPD supplied a multitude of trades, completing core block construction, dry linings, joinery and decorations. As well as security shutter and door installations all to a high standard and to the satisfaction of this blue chip client.
The new store involves new futuristic designs such as a ‘Park up and relax’ area and ‘Virtual bike testing’ area and an indoor race track for children to test out bikes.
IPD were involved in the entire works for this store from commencement to completion. This new store was redesigned to bring the presentation and customer experience into the 21st Century, marking a shift to eco-friendly with all LED concept lighting and flowing graphics to enhance the customer experience.
As a new unit this was a blank canvas that incorporated electric vehicle charging points, smart fit technological advance in design around cycling for accurate measurement of customers for correct fitting of clothing and incorporating scanning the customer for height proportions and dimensions.
Information points with video display to assist the customer in their experience, a ‘try before you buy’ cycle set in front of a projector to give you the experience of cycling on the open road synchronised to the speed you pedal, customer lounge with seating, TV and USB charging facilities to accommodate today’s customers.
We succeeded in delivering this in a fixed time scale, on time and to budget and we are pleased to be considered a viable partner in this enterprise.
